I’ve finished the game … hahaha … all the way to the outerspace
I love this Korean series … nakakaloko … nakaktuwa … downloaded it from animeground.com and i watched all the 16 episodes in like 5 days … I sleep late so late that’s why I’m always sleepy at work but hey its entertainment … hehehe.
It’s a really funny series, the actors are all good in it … specially Lee Dae Hee. And to think na sya yung nasa Green Rose parang the transformation was so apart … i really enjoyed it.
If they say the notebook is the greatest love story ever … I say after seeing the Lake house I think it deserves also the title. Because it shows what love really is. It’s complicated, weird at times, but most importantly patient, giving and unselfish.
It doesn’t matter if you wait cause at the end the happiest is when the day comes that he comes back for you … right … hehe
D … I’m still waiting
This movie is real fun. I never thought that I would like this film because it features Vince Vaughn and take note with Jennifer Aniston. I love Jenifer but I did not imagine that she’ll like have chemistry with Vince. I don’t hate Vince I just didn’t like him. I’ve seen Wedding crashers and its a good thing that Owen Wilson is featured in the film as well.
I didn’t watch the first two X-Men movies because I didn’t want to but I decided to catch the 3rd because its the last and my favorite mutants are in it … Beast and Angel.
Coming to the theater to watch the last addition to the X-men trilogy with low expectations I guess really helped because I like the movie though I know that there are things in it that I hate in a movie. I wouldn’t mention it because I feel guilty that I was not able to watch the first two … hehehe … they are Brian Singer’s movie what I was thinking not watching it.
The movie opened with what occured in the past. How Jean is acquainted with Professor Xavier and Magneto and how Angel struggle with his back problem, his wings beginning to develop. Then the movie jumped back in the future at the Mutant academy founded by Professor Xavier, the students training with Storm and Wolverine.
The movie basically revolves around what they call the cure. The cure that is said to turn a mutant into a ordinary human being. Many feelings arose toward the issue. Some are desiring it but a lot were also in rage because in the thinking that the whole idea is abomination of the mutant community. And the fact that they are calling it a cure, it’s like saying that being a mutant is like carrying a deadly disease, which I think personally is untrue because I myself would want to be a mutant … hehehe .. though in reality impossible.
If there’s somebody that will be the first one to reject the even the idea itself, of course none other than Magneto himself. So what he did was encouraged every mutant to fight with him against what they are calling the cure.
So mutants have taken their sides so eventually it resulted in a war between the 2 divisions. The coolest part of the movie I think is when Magneto used the bridge for he and the rest of his alliance to cross over Alcaraz, that was so cool.
I’ve waited a long time for this movie but I didn’t think its worth of much for my wait and all the excitement i had when i found out that it was to be released not later than May 16th of this year(2006). I like the book way better than the film but I have this theory that if i hadn’t read the book I’d probably find the film brilliant, I don’t know but probably better.
I read the book just recently, I’ve made sure that when the movie is shown in theaters I’ve already read the book. So I spent my holy Thursday and Friday reading the book and finishing it before Black Saturday. Cause on those days I have nothing else to do, I have given up watching TV for those two consecutive days (Oh, imagine that) and going to the movies for the whole week (I didn’t seen V for Vendetta, another movie I’ve waited for because after the Holy week it was nowhere to be seen in the theaters).
Da vinci Code was the second book that I read from Dan Brown, the first was Digital Fortress and I must admit I prefer it over the Da Vinci Code cause its more of an excitement for me. It’s much more exciting when you can solve the clues and puzzles with the character in the book. In the Da Vinci Code you just merely read and you follow, the book didn’t get me totally in it like how Digital Fortress get me to read inside my closet 2 am in the morning just to finish the book in a day or a night … But I finished Da Vinci Code in 2 days so I say that it’s all good it’s just that I’m just a reader following the struggles of Langdon and Neveu while in Digital Fortress, I felt I’m actually Susan Fletcher … hehehe. What really got me hook in the book is the facts it is laying out in front of my eyes and the points its trying to point out. The controversy in it, the opposite of all what I have believe all of this years (what a way to spend my holy week not knowing what to believe in) are actually what the book is trying to imply. However, my faith got all worked out fine by the end of the day cause I realized that the book is still fictional and maybe the facts maybe right but whats in the bible are facts as well so basically right now I don’t care if Jesus had or not had Mary Magdalene as his companion that time, we all do need companions right?
I don’t know why I got all excited about the film, its just that everybody was talking about it … at school, at work, even at a restaurant where my friends and I ate I kept overhearing people talking about it. I guess I just want to know what’s the fuss all about that I got excited for all the wrong reasons that resulted in me being dissapointed … I guess.
Well let’s go back to the film ’cause its starting to run away. The film didn’t opened like how it opened in the book, in fact the movie didn’t go like how it goes in the book … entirely. Apparently lot of scenes were cut and I understand that 2 hours and 16 minutes will not accomodate everything in the book. I didn’t felt all the excitement I felt while reading the book in the movie basically because literally the movie was moving too fast.
Honestly, the movie was (a … I don’t want to use the word dissapointment so i guess the movie was) just not the way I was expecting it, it was less than I expected. However, I must say that Ron Howard is really a creative director but i’m not saying great because I’m never a fan. I just like how he did those things when Langdon was trying to solve the anagrams, it was my favorite part of the movie … in fact it’s the only thing I liked in the movie (and I don’t know if I should give the credit to him because it might not his idea I think I should give the credit to the special effects guy) … well of course the setting was outstanding but its not the only movie who have used the location.
Another thing I’ve noticed was Tom Hanks, I didn’t know if its just me but I did not like his performance at all. I love him but not in this film. For Audrey Taotou’s performance, I think it was good was not bad maybe above average but below excellent. Teabing’s character was played by Magneto, it’s funny because immediately after seeing X-men 3 we went to watch Da Vinci Code and whoah again there was he playing the villain. His performance was I must say very "villainic" … hahaha i invented a word. He was a villain all along … from the moment he appeared in the movie till the end of it. Unlike in the book I didn’t thought he was the teacher but in the movie you can guess it all along . I don’t know why but maybe because I used to seeing him as the evil one or maybe his performance was not that good thpough hebrought humur to his character. I think the one who did really good in the movie is Paul Bettany though what he did entirely was to hit himself and put the (what you may call it, forgot the name of it) the belt around his other thigh … the pain, betrayal can be seen in his face.
Conclusion for this movie would have to be … I guess … every element a thriller movie needs is in the Da Vinci Code, I think the director was just unable to use them right.
Well that’s all I can say about the movie …
In the first half hour of the film, it shown how lucky Lindsay can get … she never lose a scratch card, voted as an homecoming queen in a school she didn’t attended, rain stops when she needs to be outside, unexpectedly she was promoted, etc. And how unlucky Chris can be … he has the worst job he could get, he can’t find a gig for one of the coolest band in New York, he can’t get nearby the person he needs to talk to without getting trouble etc. imagine the worst.
Then for the next hour everything turn completely upside down, after a kiss in the masquerade party what Lindsay has or should I say used to have is what Chris now has and what Chris used to have is what Lindsay has. It’s like everything in Chris’ life is falling to the right places while Lindsay’s life is literally falling apart.
However, I think Lindsay’s experience with bad luck is not totally that bad because despite all the unluckiness she experience she was still able to find a very good and must I say handy friend, Chris and let’s not forget he is also a cutie. He was able to help her because it was his life back then, he gave her advice in fact he was the one who gave her his old job in the bowling alley for he made big out of himself selling McFly to a big time producer whom he saved once in the masquerade party that is organized by Lindsay herself. Umm … small world … right?!
Well of course at the end Lindsay realized that her luck was taken away by Chris at the end. She decided to get it back, but then she decided to give it back to him eventually because without it he’ll fall apart and him falling apart means the band will also. But we shouldn’t forget that it’s still a romantic comedy so no one wants to have the luck so they keep kissing each other and keep passing the luck to each other … then finally when they saw Chris’ niece who I think inherited her Uncle’s unluckiness they decided to give it to her. Since they thought that with each other they are lucky enough and hopefully together they will be fine.
Then the movie finishes off with a kiss … the story ended that way … and hopefully they will lived happily ever after.
The new animated series from Animax that I get to watch just recently. It’s a good thing that it just started just a few weeks ago, if I remember it right it just started on the 2nd week of this month. I was not able to catch the first episode when it premiered at Animax but it’s a good thing my friend was able to. When he told me about this new series I got all excited because the plot is not the most extraordinary but somehow the characters were in some ways.
It is shown every monday night at 7pm immediately after Detective Conan. I did not like the idea to play it only once a week, I’m really hopin’ and still wishin’ that Animax will put it 5 times a week, Mondays through Fridays. But I’m thankful enough that they shows two episodes per week.
The plot of the series is basically about an institution, an academic institution to be specific where kids with special, unusual and uncommon abilities receives proper taining. Meaning abilities that are incredible or beyond reality skills like clairvoyant ability, photographic memory, time travel ability etc. Anyone who possesses any special ability is called an Alice.
The story opened in a small town where two main characters where introduced, Mikan and Hotaru. These two are best friends in a very different perspectives. They were together since Hotaru came into town. They were inseperable but suddenly Hotaru decided to leave town and transfer to a bigger school in the city. Mikan misses her friend so much that she decided to follow her in the city. That’s when Alice Academy appeared. The school that Hotaru is now attending is none other than Alice Academy.
When Mikan arrived at the front of the academy she encountered two guys who were supposed to kidnap her thinking that she was an Alice but thanks to a charming man named Mr. Narumi she was saved. Fortunately the charming man was also a teacher at the academy, he helped Mikan enter the academy. He believed that Mikan has an Alice but not quite sure what it is. Mikan being in the academy caused a lot of troubles at least for one teacher who gave him no star, but with the trouble came a lot of fun. She met a lot of kids her age as well as those older than her that possesses different kinds of Alices, there are the semantic, dangerous ability like Natsume and the other types I forgot. With the Alices the kids and adult in the academy had, it is a whole lot of adventure. That’s a sure thing because not only Alice is what is different in them but their personalities and behaviours as well. The complexities in each of them will result in great fun especially with Mikan’s must I say unusual attitude toward things.
I can’t say no more, I have said a lot … maybe. Just catch it every Monday with replays on the next day and on Sundays as well.
This is my first ever R-18 movie. And you know what if all R-18 movies are like this one I don’t see the point why will I not watch R-18 movies from now on. I watched this movie with a friend and I’m glad I did ’cause I know if I’ll get the ticket, the ticketer would again be asking of my age. I really wasn’t aware that it was an R-18 movie until I went out of the theatre and read the poster outside it. But who cares, it was great, the movie was entirely great!
Enough of me get back to the movie. First things first, I want to say that Brokeback Mountain is not a gay film . . . entirely speaking! Though, in the theatre more than half of the audiences were gays, maybe because people get the idea that it’s about gay lovers but in reality there’s more than that that the movie has to offer. I don’t want to describe the movie in a way that it acquaint us audiences with a love story between two homosexuals, rather I would describe it as a movie that acquaint us audiences with an extraordinary love story between two extraordinary people.
I really don’t want to talk about the movie’s plot, how it started and how it ended because I want you, yes you, to catch it in a theatre. There’s nothing more immense than having the Brokeback experience on the big screen . . . hehehe!
However, what I can really tell you guys is how great the movie is without telling the plot and exploring other factors of films which are the actors skills and the director’s work.
Fist stop is the actors, the movie has 2 main actors which are Heath Ledger & Jake Gyllenhaal and 2 supporting actors which are played by Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway. The actors in this film did all good, either supporting or main. However, I think Jake’s acting skills was really showcased in this film. He did so good that my favorite line currently from a movie is, "I wish I knew how to quit you." Heath’s performance was also stunning, less talk but more of emotions. Actually both of them were, each scenes with them together were very intense in a way that you’ll really feel the scenes, it will get onto you. But the guys were not the only actors in the film that render an amazing performance, the girls did well also. Michelle was great, she gave judgement to the character she played. As a girl you’ll feel the pain she portrayed as well the insult like emotion you can’t understand and guys would just feel sorry for her i guess. What surprised me or rather shocked me is Anne, in her role in this film she was required to take off her top so you probably guess what the whole audience saw. But it is not that that really shocked me. It was the idea that from a Disney Film she suddenly jumped to a film where she suddenly took off her top. There’s was no transition at all. It was just really shocking because the last time I saw her was walking in parade and telling little girls that you can be princesses in every way you can be. But beside the shock, I think she did good with playing the role of Jack Twist’s wife, with the cowgirl tone and look. Bottom line is all of the actors in this film are great and amazing … the acting skills they’ve shown are very sincere and heartfelt.
Now let’s talk about the director, Mr. Ang Lee himself. I know that Ang Lee’s talent in film making is exceptional but he’s never been this good. I really love how he did this film, how he made his actors’ performances outstanding, how he knew the best angle to shoot each scenes and the location … totally WOW … etc. The actors are all good just like what i’ve stated above and I think we could give credit to Mr. Ang lee for that, he always brings out the best in his actors and that’s proven in all the films he have done. The film is not really shot in brokeback mountain cause he believe that shooting it in Canada would be much better (and besides the place is fictional … hehehe) and he was not wrong, the ambiance, the look and overall scenery there is much better than the one they should be doing the film at the first place. And to top it all, he knows and was able to use the sceneries’ beauty for a great take. That’s why I enjoyed every scene for the actors’ was just isn’t great, the background was even spectacular, it’s like the scenes fit to be shot in the particular place they shoot it. The angle of each scene taken was not necessarily perfect and without flaws but it was more than enough to make the scenes creative and outstanding.
With all that I’ve said I guess you already got the point that Brokeback Mountain is a great film that showcased not only the actor’s great performance but as well as the director’s exceptional talent and not to forget the film’s extraordinary plot. It’s a must see movie that will let you feel that love really comes in the least expected time and place.
So that’s what I gotta say about the film so I guess I’m out!

This is the
movie I thought would be lesser than I thought, but it turned out to
be more than what I have expected. It’s a biopic so I thought it’ll
be boring (like last year’s Ray, I love Ray Charles but maybe I just
don’t adore Jamie Foxx’ performance) but it wasn’t, I enjoyed every
scene there was in the movie.
The film opened with Johnny Cash
at a county jail getting ready for a performance then from it the
scene suddenly went back in time when he was still a kid. The film
shown young John enamored with songs he hears on the radio and
constantly singing tunes from his mother’s hymnal, as a child he
certainly has passion for music. Dreadful events that occurred were
shown in the film as well like the death of his elder brother that
was blamed unto him and the rejection of him by his father.
Then
the film continued following the young rebel Johnny Cash through his
stint in the Air Force, through his struggle to be signed to a record
label (with the same record label as Elvis Presley the king himself;
TRIVIA: Tyler Hilton played the role of Presley though his appearance
was just being seen by Cash recording in the studio, very short
appearance), his rise to fame on the rock and roll circuit, and the
partying that leads to a downward spiral into addiction. But the
backbone of this story lies in his struggle with those childhood
memories, and the filament of June Carter in his life, from a
clanging voice on the old family radio to a flirtation on stage
during his days of touring. Of how it was all put in the film is for
you to find out, it\x{2019}s a great movie you should catch it
yourself.
However, every film has its weakness and I guess
what\x{2019}s missing is the film\x{2019}s weakness. Not all that
shaped Cash beyond those demons and the love of his life was shown in
the film. But the truth is that no film, book, or TV mini series can
really present the entirely giant that is Johnny Cash. However, how
the film illustrates his triumph over his demons and the love of the
"greatest woman" he ever knew who gave him the strength to
overcome was something endearing and captivating.
Another
thing is Walk the line does not have the most extraordinary plot
there can be in a movie, however, the truthfulness of the story makes
it everything but ordinary. The inspiring true love story the movie
has that was backed up by brilliant performances of its stars makes
it a must see movie (no wonder both of the main stars of the movie,
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are both nominated for best
actors in a film for this year\x{2019}s Academy Awards and for the
Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards Reese was not only
nominated she won both of it). So go treat yourself and watch it in a
theater near you . . . hehehehe! The film is worth of your money.
